About Your Therapist

Dr. Dome and his wife Shiree
I have a passion for helping people overcome life's difficulties and to reach their full potential as individuals, couples, or families. I work hard to make sure that I understand your needs and provide individualized therapy and counseling sessions that will be of most benefit to you. I view symptoms and issues in context of a biological/psychological/social/spiritual context, looking at all possible areas of life for solutions to your concerns. I have experience working with people of all ages and a variety of issues. My specializations include anxiety, addictions, abuse and trauma, as well as marital, couple, and family issues.

I am married with 4 great kids and two fun cats. I have been practicing therapy since 2003. After obtaining my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in North Carolina, I worked for several years as a family therapist for a family based substance abuse treatment program called Family Solutions. I also was a part time contract worker with LDS Family Services. In 2006, my wife and I felt it was time to take the plunge and for me to return to school to seek a doctorate degree. In 2007 I returned to school at BYU where I received my doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have experience in agency work in outpatient substance abuse therapy, group therapy, residential treatment, in-home therapy, university clinic work, and private practice. I was a clinical Director at Ascend Recovery in American Fork, UT, and have supervised many interns and therapists in training. I am currently in full-time private practice in Saratoga Springs.

Come meet me in person. The relationship between you and your therapist is key to how well therapy will turn out. I am happy to talk with you on the phone or respond to an email about any questions you may have and set up a time to meet with you when you are ready to get started.
